CANDIDA

Candida Overgrowth - The silent epidemic

WHAT IS IT?

Candida is a yeast, fungus that occurs naturally in the digestive tract. It lives without problems, kept in check by good bacteria and actually performs important digestive functions. Problems occurs when something upsets the balance of the good bacteria in the body (usually antibiotics, medication, chlorinated tap water.) This allows the yeast organism to proliferate (overgrow) and take over healthy micro-organisms. It normally resides in the intestinal tract, mouth, throat and genitals, however it can burrow holes in the intestinal wall, enter the blood stream and then travel to any organ of the body. This disperses toxins to the brain and causes food intolerances, allergies, mental and physical illness.
